Arrest History in Menard County

ISP arrests require the ISP agency or FOIA route for the agency report, followed by Menard County court channels if a local case was filed. The same custody event can therefore require two or three calls. Start with the roster's held-for agency field, record the date, and ask each custodian only for the part it created. That approach is more reliable than sending one broad request to the jail for all records tied to an incident.

Menard FOIA for Arrest Records

The county form also asks which public body should receive the request, the request date, contact details, whether copies are wanted, paper or electronic format, commercial-purpose status, and any fee-waiver request. Retain a copy. A Request for Review to the Illinois Attorney General's Public Access Counselor must include it. FOIA does not require an office to create an analysis it does not keep, so request a named existing record instead of asking the agency to explain what happened.

The detention facility operates continuously at 315 S. Sixth Street, Petersburg. It holds locally arrested or sentenced people and some people held for federal prosecution. A public listing is only the short view of intake. It does not show the full probable-cause narrative, witness statements, property details, or each step taken after release. Those facts may remain in the arresting agency's report, with lawful redactions. The roster also does not state that its booking charge became a filed charge. Menard County readers should save the arrest date and held-for agency, then use those facts when calling the jail or writing the agency.
